UGC Fee Refund Policy: Students will get full fees back if they leave the seat by 30 September 2024
All universities will have to refund the entire fee of students who leave the seat by 30 September. At the same time, if the seat is left by 31 October, the institute can deduct only Rs 1000 in the name of processing fee. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the fee refund policy for the academic session 2024-25. According to this, there is a provision from imposing fine to cancellation of recognition on the institutions violating the rules.
UGC Secretary Professor Manish Joshi informed the states and universities about this on Wednesday. The proposal for Fee Refund Policy 2024 was passed in the UGC Council meeting on May 15. According to this, if the student leaves the seat or migrates after taking admission till September 30, then all his fees will be refunded. At the same time, no fee will be refunded after one month or 30 days of admission. Apart from this, the institute will also have to return the original certificate after investigation. If any educational institution violates the rules, then the student or parent can send a complaint directly to the UGC.
