The government has changed GST rates on many everyday items. Here’s a simple list of what’s cheaper and what’s costlier from 22nd September 2025.

✔️ Cheaper Now:

LPG Gas (for hotels) 18% 5%
Cinema Hall Food & Drinks 18% 5%
Cancer & Life-Saving Medicines 12% 0% or 5%
Unbranded Atta, Paneer, Curd 5% 0%
Bicycles & Parts 12% 5%
Small Cars (Petrol/Diesel) 28% 18%
Electric Vehicles, Buses, Trucks 28% 18%
Solar Products 12% 5%
Soap, Shampoo, Face Powder 18% 5%
Spectacles (for vision) 12-18% 5%
Agriculture Tools 12% 5%
Marble & Granite Blocks 12% 5%
All Types of Batteries 18-28% 18%
ACs, TVs, Dishwashers 28% 18%
Salons, Gym, Yoga Classes 18% 5%
Hotel Rooms (≤ ₹7500/day) 12% 5%

❌ Costlier Now:

Online Gaming, Casinos 28% + Cess 40%
Luxury Cars, SUVs 28% + Cess 40%
Large Cars & Mid-Size Cars 28% + Cess 40%
Motorcycles (above 350cc) 28% 40%
Cold Drinks & Carbonated Beverages 28% + Cess 40%

📌 Other Important Changes:

  • Life & Health Insurance: Now 0% GST (fully exempt)

  • Transport Services: Choose between 5% (no ITC) or 18% (with ITC)

  • E-way Bills: Old bills remain valid – no need to regenerate

  • Cigarettes/Beedi: Old rates continue for now

ℹ️ Remember:

  • New rates start from 22nd September 2025.

  • Use old ITC credit for new supplies.

  • If your product is now exempt, reverse ITC after 22nd Sep.

  • No change in GST registration limits.
